Hawaii Country Club (Kunia) My Favorite get-away golf course.

Located in the middle of sugar cane and pineapple fields, Hawaii Country Club is a great place to "sneak" out of work in the afternoon and get together with a bunch of friends and have a good time. Hills, valleys and trees makes this short 5,861 yard course challenging and fun. $22.00 will get you 18 holes with cart on weekdays with enough time for a couple on the 19th hole before the green flash (sunset).

Some of my favorite holes are:

This hole requires an accurate 2nd shot (trees line the approach shot) with the greens sloping off to the right. My friend here is admiring his placement of his second shot while I made my way down the slope behind him to hit my 3rd shot.

This is the first par 3 of the course (background green). It plays about 185 yards with a big green and a bunker in the middle left. The right has a little gully that is not fun to play, especially when there is the overhang of the monkey pod trees (in the background). This is a nice hole that rewards the accurate golfer.

This par 3 can make your mind think of things that you would normally not think of....with the OB driving range to the right and OB to the left AND into the wind makes it a hole to give respect to.

I would say that this par 3 hole is the signature hole of this course. Trees to the left, a non-playable area in front of the tee and a hill to the right that slopes down to the green.

This is a view from the green looking up to tee-off area. I know I have a pic of the green somewhere.....

Another challenging hole, most of the time, I'm flirtting with the trees..... (background green)

A short par 4, but all up-hill. The long and accurate hitter can reach the top or even the green from the tee!

Once you reach to top of the 9th and 18th green, you get an awsome view. Can you see Waikiki and Diamond Head in the background (sorry, this day had Kona (south) winds that day and made it a little hazey (vog).)

This view is taken from the Club House.
The tee is to the left and down the hill.
